🌲 Celebrate International Day of Forests with Us – March 21! 🌲

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, people around the world will observe the International Day of Forests, a day dedicated to recognizing the vital role forests play in supporting life on Earth. Forests provide clean air and water, protect biodiversity, and create healthier communities for people and wildlife alike.

Here in the Cumberland Gap region, forests form the backbone of our landscape. They provide habitat for countless species, safeguard our watersheds, and create the scenic beauty that makes our local trails so special. Through trail stewardship, conservation efforts, and partnerships, the Cumberland Gap Trail Alliance works to help preserve these forests while promoting responsible recreation and environmental education that connects people to the region’s incredible natural resources.

To celebrate this important day, we invite you to get outside and experience these forests with us! 🌿
